Dear Choir Family,
I wanted to let everyone know that I was released as Ward Choir Director this past Sunday.
I knew this release was coming at some point, as I had talked with the bishop after receiving my calling as Stake Choir Director, but I didn’t know exactly when it would happen.
It has truly been a joy and an honor to lead our choir. I am so grateful for each of you—for your willingness to come to rehearsals, share your talents, and help bring the Spirit through music. Thank you for the love, support, and dedication you’ve shown.
Please know that I’m not leaving the choir! I’ll continue singing with you as often as I can. Once a new choir director has been called, I’ll be happy to help in any way I can to make the transition as smooth as possible.
After much prayer over the past year, I felt that with my calling as Elders Quorum Secretary, my new calling as Stake Choir Director, and the amount of travel our family has planned this year, trying to fulfill three callings well would simply be more than I could reasonably manage. I want to give my very best to the responsibilities Heavenly Father has entrusted me with, and I feel this change will allow me to do that.
You’ll also be hearing more from me as we get the Stake Choir organized! I hope many of you will consider being a part of it—I have a feeling I’ll be doing a little recruiting before too long!
I’m sorry I wasn’t able to make a more formal announcement before Sunday. The timing just didn’t work out.
Thank you again for allowing me the privilege of serving as your choir director. I love and appreciate each of you, and I’m excited to see what Heavenly Father has in store for both our ward choir and our stake choir. I look forward to continuing to worship and sing alongside you.
